Being a vegetarian is definitely better for your health. And you could probably lose weight if you change into veggie because you body is not used to it. There are some veggie substitutes that you can eat to substitute the nutritions you gain from the meat. So for me it is good for health to become a vegetarian. But, i think the only problem I have encountered is I could get hungry easily, because veggie is light when you eat it. Unlike when you eat meats, so if you do eat more before. You may eat extra more now when you become a vegetarian.

It’s perfectly healthy if you eat what your body needs. Most meat eaters think that they get everything they need because they include meat..but that’s not true simply because most of them dont include the correct amount of whole grains and vegetables that they need. Google the vegetarian food pyramid which is much like the regular food pyramid minus the meat of course.
A meat free diet greatly reduces your risk for many conditions.

I’ve been a vegetarian for about a year now, and I’ve never felt healthier! I use a lot of the boca brand products, like the boca veggie burgers, boca crumbles, boca sausages, and boca meat balls. I cook basically the same way, as I would with meat, making meals such as boca meat loaf, spaghetti with meatballs, and boca stroganoff. Everyone that I cook for, says it tastes exactly the same, if not better. If you look on the labels of the boca products, you will see that there is a lot of protein in them. I eat a lot of fish as well, which is really high in protein too. I also make fruit smoothies in the morning, and I’ll put a tablespoon of tofu in there… and don’t worry, you won’t taste the tofu at all, because it takes on the flavor of whatever you are using it in. I also buy vegetarian eggs, they are a little more expensive, but it’s worth it because you’re getting an all around natural egg. That’s what is so good about a vegetarian diet, you won’t be putting all of those nasty hormones into your body. Also, I like to buy the smart balance peanut butter, it’s really healthy for you and it doesn’t have all the bad stuff in it like regular peanut butter does. Whole wheat bread is really important, so that you get a dose of whole grains into your body. One last thing, don’t forget to take a multi vitamin, so be sure you are getting all the nutrients you would be lacking from not eating meat. A meat-fre diet can be just as unhealthy or fattening as a meaty diet.
Its all down to balance, make sure you get a good range of fruit, veggies, cereals, dairy and you will be very healthy and have no need for suppliments.
I’ve been veggie for 27 years and had no need for any suppliments, i’m never ill and am healthy and fit ( I own a farm so am used to a bit of hard work as well as my office stuff )

I’ve been vegetarian for three months now and I’ve never felt better. I used to get sick every couple of weeks. I lost some inches at first because of the increased fiber intake.
You’d lose weight on any diet as long as calories in < calories out.
Sample diets are hard to find (believe me, I’ve looked.) There’s a sample vegan diet at the PETA site. That’s really the only one I found and I thought the recipes were a bit too involved for everyday cooking. If you can find it, Vegetarian Times magazine is a great resource for recipes. There are a few large websites with recipes from real vegetarians like:
…or just Google vegetarian recipes.
Be sure to get enough protein from beans, soy, wheat, or eggs. Mix up your food intake every day and you’ll be fine. Variety is key!

It is not that much healthier at all…if you eat a balanced diet with meat in it then there is little health benefits…unfortunately i have no recipes as i am an omnivore…but i am not here to trash your views…good luck with changing diet…all the best
