Look Good Feel Great After Pregnancy
One of the determining factors to how much weight you will lose after your pregnancy is just how much additional weight you gained while you were pregnant but there are things to consider as well. Of course anything up to 14 pounds will be lost within the first 14 days after birth which will include the weight of the baby and the afterbirth.
An additional seven pounds or so of body fat is gained during pregnancy but after birth when the uterus reverts back to its normal size and the hormone level starts to drop then the weight will start to fall as well. The extra fat gained is used as energy while the mother is breastfeeding but there is no magic formula to calculate how quickly each individual’s excess weight will reduce.
After all, it did take nine moths to put the weight on and you cannot expect to lose it all overnight but having said that some women are fortunate enough to lose almost all of this weight within matter of months after the birth. Often the last few pounds are the hardest to lose and that may be because the body often holds onto little weight to ensure the baby has sufficient milk but even this is not certainty as every woman experiences this differently.
However, nutrition specialists are able to provide healthy diet plans and with regular physical activity there is no reason why you shouldn’t get back to your normal size and weight. It is true to say that the majority of women will in fact get back to this stage within the year providing they behave as far as their food intake and exercise activities are concerned. Although some women seem to defy this average and have their normal shape back within as little as three months.
Weight loss after pregnancy can of course be difficult as most women’s bodies change in order to be mother. This is one good reason if you want to achieve weight loss after pregnancy then you must take things steady and not try to rush, especially if you wish to stay healthy.
One aspect that must be considered is the health of the mother and baby as additional fat during the breastfeeding stage is used to provide extra energy. While it may take over half year for mother to get close to her old metabolic rate and hormone level there may be some changes that are permanent.
Most women will lose up to fourteen pounds when they give birth but seeing as they may have put on over thirty, there will still be some way to go.
Although this weight loss after pregnancy is almost immediate, there is still long way to go with perhaps another 21 pounds or so to lose but it needs to be done slowly perhaps even up to nine months.
