How Is It Possible To Lower Your Metabolism

I am the Badger Princess. asked:
Or is it just that you have lost muscle?. They say your body goes into “starvation mode” and starts burning lean tissue instead of fat, but how could your body keep this up permenantly? Does that mean you would be permenantly burning muscle for energy? If not then what do people mean by “permenantly damaged metabolism?

If you starve yourself, the body uses glycogen from muscles to produce glucose so it can survive. If you eat a lowfat diet, your body won’t be able to use body fat as easily, so the next step is using protein from your muscles.
Eating also releases a chemical called leptin which tells you that you are full, and helps you start burning food. By not eating, this chemical isn’t produced, and your metabolism slows.
You can undo this process by eating the way we were designed to. Plenty of good fats and carbs. This helps our metabolisms remain healthy, and can undo starvation mode.
Have you seen pictures of Jews in the concentration camps? They have been starved so much that they have not only no more fat, but no more muscle. Even though the Jews would work all day, they body couldn’t build muscle and actually had to burn muscle to work. So they look like walking skeletons.
This is sometimes common in third world countries, but usually they are infected with parasites making their stomachs bulge.
What is Your Opinion?
